Kerry Butler: Faith, Trust & Pixie Dust
Last seen haunting the Great White Way as one of the stars of Beetlejuice, Broadway royalty and Disney Princess Kerry Butler lights up the stage with an E-Ticket extravaganza that will take you on a musical journey through Disneyland and beyond.
Kerry, armed with just a microphone and an amazing vocal range, will transport you to a land filled with hope and wonder. Where the promise of dreams coming true wafts tantalizingly before you like the cinnamon scent of fresh churros. Her barn-raising take on Minnie’s Yoo hoo, the only song written by Walt himself, will have you grinning from ear to ear, while her delicate interpretation of Baby Mine may have you reaching for a Kleenex.
Kerry boldly reimagines Disney classics like Bare Necessities and When You Wish Upon A Star in ways that will make you feel like you are hearing them for the very first time. She will also introduce you to the Disney-hits-that-could-have-been by singing Call Me a Princess and This Only Happens in the Movies, two songs written by Alan Menken that were cut from Aladdin and Roger Rabbit respectively, and generously provided by the author to Kerry when she was recording her album.
Kerry has had an amazing run of Broadway smash hits as the original Penny in Hairspray, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, her Tony-Nominated turn in Xanadu, originating starring roles in Catch Me if You Can, Mean Girls and Beetlejuice. But to paraphrase Walt Disney, Kerry has never forgotten that it all started with a princess. Yes, Kerry’s first star turn on Broadway was as Belle in Beauty in the Beast.
For Kerry, since she was a little girl, the wonder of Disney has never faded, and at the times of her life when she needed it most, she would take a trip to Disney to find hope. With Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust, Kerry will sprinkle a heaping helping of that magical stuff on audiences that will make them laugh, cry and fill them with joy and wonder again. It is a celebration and everyone is invited!
